Baita Maso Covel

LOCATION: Cabin located in the locality. Covel in the municipality of Peio at 1835 m.s.l.m. in the heart of the Stelvio National Park in a plain of approximately 25 ha. It hosts, among other things, the Covel lake and waterfall and the mountain hut of the same name with sheep and goats where you can watch the goats being milked every day and purchase dairy products processed at the shift dairy in Peio town. In the rutting season you can hear the roars of deer. In the area, paths and forest roads branch off to various locations and the hut is therefore in a good position for trekking, mountain biking and high mountain routes (Cadini waterfall, Pian Palù lake, Scoiattolo refuge, ref. Doss dei Cembri, Vioz refuge, Malga Saline, ski lifts, peaks of the Ortles – Cevedale group, etc.).

FEATURES: The cabin is structured on two levels: on the ground floor the kitchen area with wood stove (used both for heating and for cooking with the griddle or oven) and 4-burner gas stove and a small bathroom with floor shower. on the first floor there is a single room with a double bed, a bunk bed and a single bed for a total of 5 beds. The hut has a large, flat private lawn, suitable outdoor parking and the possibility of a barbecue. Adjacent to the hut there is a larger building used as a wood storage and pantry warehouse.

SERVICES: Electricity is produced via a small photovoltaic system capable of operating only light bulbs, razors, radios and telephone charging. p>
